Kencher Safaris guide driver will warmly meet you on arrival at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, transfer you to the Hemingways Nairobi. Check-in then brief you on your safari. Enjoy overnight as you wait to start your Kenya safari on your best holiday in Africa. You are booked on Bed & Breakfast.
Hemingways Nairobi is ideally located to several of Nairobi's major tourist attractions among them the Karen Blixen Museum and the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust. It has lofty, expansive rooms with vast, bright en-suite bathrooms and large private terraces are characteristic of the hotel's wonderful sense of space and use of natural light. Day 2 Nairobi - Amboseli National ParkApproximately 240kms, takes approximately 4.5 hours' drive depending on traffic
Enjoy breakfast then we drive you to the Amboseli National Park arriving at the Elewana Tortilis Camp for check-in then lunch. Amboseli is great for a Kenya safari. Enjoy an afternoon game viewing drive. Varied wildlife includes giraffes, zebras, cheetahs and hundreds of bird species. The western section is dominated by vast Lake Amboseli, which is dry outside the rainy season. Later return back to the Amboseli Serena Lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 3 Amboseli National ParkEnjoy early morning game viewing drive the return back to the lodge for breakfast. Mid-morning is at leisure. If the weather permits you will enjoy breath-taking views of the snow-capped Mount Kilimanjaro. It is from the Amboseli where some of the most captivating wildlife photos with Mount Kilimanjaro in the background have been taken. Enjoy dinner and overnight at the Elewana Tortilis Camp.
Elewana Tortilis Camp Tortilis Camp has a prime location for witnessing the majesty of Africa's highest mountain, Kilimanjaro. The camp is named after the flat-topped, umbrella thorn tree, the Acacia Tortilis, and embraces a hill in one of Amboseli's areas of Acacia Tortilis woodland. Located in a private conservancy bordering the national park, game drives, walks, sundowners and bush meals take place both inside the national park and in the conservancy, where guests enjoy exclusivity.
The tents are all spacious, with king or twin beds and elegant en suite bathrooms. There is a main lounge, bar and dining area, all exquisitely built with natural materials and thatched roofs. The Private House and Family Tent are located slightly separate to the main camp, upon the hill where they share a pool.
Day 4 Amboseli - Aberdare National ParkEnjoy breakfast then depart with packed lunch. We drive you via Nairobi to the Aberdare National Park arriving in the afternoon. You need a small overnight bag for your essentials of the night at The Ark Lodge, rest of the luggage will be left in safe custody at the Aberdare Country Club. You will be watching wildlife from the lodge balcony and under-ground bunkers. Occasionally you will receive alarms at night from your room when special animals come to the flood-lit water-hole. Enjoy dinner and overnight at The Ark Lodge.
The Ark Lodge Set in the heart of the Aberdare National Park, The Ark overlooks a floodlit waterhole and salt lick, which attracts a host of awesome wildlife. Resembling and named after Noah's Ark, The Ark comprises of three decks from which numerous balconies and lounges provide a superb location for wildlife to be seen. So that you don't miss any animal sightings, the night guard will buzz your room when special animals come to the waterhole. There is also a ground level bunker - the perfect hideout for the discerning photographer. This is a circular pillbox-like structure, and it is from this vantage point that pictures of animals on the salt lick only yards away may be taken through the view holes in complete safety.
The Lodge has 52 standard rooms, all each offering all the essentials to ensure a comfortable stay and a balcony with a view of the vast wilderness and floodlit water holes. The lodge has two restaurants - the main restaurant one built in an open-air style has a view of floodlit water holes and the Leopard dinning tree. There is also the Leopard Bar and Restaurant where you're able to see the leopard feeding as you enjoy your dinner.
Day 5 Aberdare National Park - Samburu Game ReserveEnjoy early morning breakfast then begin your Kenya safari. Kencher Safariss guide driver will pick you and proceed to the Samburu National Reserve arriving at the Elephant Bedroom Camp for check-in then lunch. Enjoy an afternoon game viewing drive. Later return back to the camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 6 Samburu National ReserveEnjoy early morning game viewing drive to enjoy your African safari then return back to the camp for breakfast. Mid-morning is at leisure. Enjoy lunch then depart on an afternoon game viewing drive. The semi-arid game reserve is home to the special five of Samburu namely the generuk (Twiga gazelle), the grevy's Zebra, beisa oryx, Somali ostrich and the reticulated giraffe. Other wildlife here includes lions, the savannah elephant, cape buffalo, the elusive leopard among many others. Later return back to the Elephant Bedroom Camp for dinner and overnight.
Elephant Bedroom Camp Elephant Bedroom Camp offers luxury in a setting of breath-taking beauty. It is set along the banks of the Ewaso Nyiro River and shaded by doum palms and other trees that make up this green belt of riverine forest in Samburu National Reserve.
The surrounding Samburu National Reserve is an area of spectacular scenery; its dry plains bisected by the meandering river, with the backdrop of Africa's dramatic mountains, including Mt Kenya. The 14 spacious tents have rustic and colorful African touches, offering all the comforts; including a private plunge pool on the deck, hot and cold running water, electricity (and complimentary herbal shower and bath products).
The lounge and dining area is decorated with vibrant safari style, its soft intimate lighting assuring that this is the ultimate place to relax in between exciting game drives. Elephant, Monkeys, Impalas are amongst the camp's many regular wild visitors, whilst Samburu National Reserve has a good number of lions and leopards and offers the opportunity to see many species endemic to northern Kenya.
Day 7 Samburu - Ol Pejeta ConservancyEnjoy breakfast the we drive you to the 90-hectare Ol Pejeta Conservancy, arriving at the Sweetwaters Serena Camp for check-in then lunch. Enjoy an afternoon game viewing drive. This sanctuary has the largest black n concentration in East Africa and is one of the best places for a Safari in Africa. It is also home to rehabilitated chimpanzees. This is one of the best places to see the big five of Africa which include lions, cape buffalo, savanna elephant, leopard and rhinos. Hundreds of other wildlife species roam the savannah plains and grasslands. Enjoy diner and overnight in Morani wing.
Sweetwaters Serena Camp - Morani WingTucked inside the landscaped grounds and accessible via winding stone pathways, Sweetwaters Serena Camp's accommodation offers an elegant retreat amid the breath-taking natural beauty of Kenya's Ol Pejeta Conservancy.
Boasting views of Mount Kenya, the new Morani Wing features 17 deluxe double, twin and triple tents, one of which is specially adapted for guests with mobility concerns. Bathrooms include a two-hand washbasin, a WC and a shower with a glass door.
Day 8 Ol Pejeta Conservancy - Lake Nakuru National ParkEnjoy breakfast then we drive you to the Lake Nakuru national park with a brief stop at the 74 metres Thompson falls. We will be arriving at The Cliff for check-in then lunch. Enjoy an afternoon game viewing drive. The park is famous for the abundant greater and lesser flamingoes (when the later levels on the lake are low). Wildlife here is bountiful including lion, cheetah, leopard, and hyenas. Rothschild giraffe as well as black and white rhino are also found here are. Lake Nakuru National Park is an ornithological paradise for bird lovers as well. Enjoy dinner and overnight.
The Cliff Perched at the top of a 100-metre-high rock face sits Lake Nakuru's newest and smartest addition - The Cliff - a 10 room luxury camp opened in June 2018. While 'luxury camp' is the simplest description, in reality The Cliff located inside the park defies conventional labels, being a combination of safari lodge, tented camp and boutique hotel, constructed and furnished in a contemporary European style.
Each tent is built on solid foundations at the edge of the cliff, and faces the lake, allowing guests 180 degree views of the panoramic paradise, yet maintaining privacy. Not wanting to waste the view, the tent is spacious and the freestanding bath looks outwards. While the exterior environment at The Cliff is pure Africa, the room interiors combine organic chic with international design to create the understated style of a modern boutique hotel.
Day 9 Lake Nakuru National Park - Masai Mara National ReserveEnjoy breakfast then we pick and drive you to the Masai Mara National Reserve. You will be arriving at the Sarova Mara Game Lodge for lunch. Proceed on an afternoon game viewing drive. Later check-in at the Elewana Sand River Camp. Enjoy diner and overnight.
Day 10 Masai Mara National ReserveEnjoy breakfast then depart with packed lunch for a full day of game viewing drives. You can also opt for a morning and afternoon game viewing drives with hot lunch at the camp. This famous game reserve is world famous for the spectacular wildebeest migration between July through to September each year, the abundant wildlife including the 'Big five' of Africa. The reserve is surrounded by Masai villages (traditional home-steads) which at a small extra cost you may want to experience a cultural visit to one of them. Enjoy dinner and overnight at the Emayian Luxury Camp.
Emayian Luxury Camp Emayian Luxury Camp is a world class Camp blending luxury service with the Wilderness experience. The camp has 12 Luxury tents. Each tent is fitted with an outdoor Jacuzzi (Massage bathtub) and a private dining on the other side.
The camp is located at the hills of Ololaimutiek village 2km from the Ololaimutia Gate of the Great Maasai Mara National Reserve. This gives the camp a magnificent view of the park and the adjacent landscape.
The Sun Sets just before our eyes and the sundowner experience is an out of this world encounter. Serengeti is seen from a far and with the help of binoculars you are able to view animals in the park relaxing, feeding or playing.
Day 11 DepartureEnjoy breakfast then check-out. We drive you back to Nairobi. Alternatively, at an extra cost you may opt for a one-hour light scheduled flight to the Wilson Airport. If time allows you will enjoy lunch before our guide driver drops you at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your departure flight.
